The links between Immunology, Inflammation and Cancer are becoming closer and closer in recent years. We are aiming to elucidate the crossroads between inflammation and cancer immunology to understand and prevent carcinogenesis as well as improve cancer immunotherapy.

To investigate the complex interplay of immune cells, resident cells and tumors we are facilitating PET with innovative tracers, optical imaging, MRI as well as multiple ex vivo methods like flow cytometry.

Together with other groups at the WSIC as well as cooperation partners from the Department of Nuclear Medicine and Clinical Molecular Imaging, Department of Dermatology, Department of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology, Department of Medical Oncology and Pneumology and Department of Immunology we are heavily involved in the clinical translation of successful preclinical projects and first human trials.
