Research interest

My research focuses on the effects of immunotherapies with T-helper (Th1) cells. The specific influence of the immune system for the treatment of tumors is increasingly gaining importance. Interferon-γ producing Th1-cells are the central effector cells of the immune system. They can mediate a cellular immune response by activation of macrophages and cytotoxic T-cells. It has been shown that anti-tumor specific Th1-cells can induce strong anti-tumoral effects but their mechanisms of actions are poorly understood.
