Seminar with practical lab exercises. The seminar is intended to provide modern methods of basic biomedical research. The focus is on high-resolution non-invasive imaging techniques such as positron emission tomography (PET), computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) or optical imaging (OI), which are used for different approaches in medical research. Particularly functional methods such as PET, MRI or OI are applied to visualize processes and parameters such as gene expression, angiogenesis, glucose metabolism or cell proliferation in vivo. The seminar is aimed at research interested students of medicine, biochemistry, chemistry, biology and molecular medicine.
