Research interest

Many states of diseases develop from functional abnormalities in the sensitive interaction network of cellular responses. However, genetically encoded fluorescent proteins use visible light that propagates hardly in deep tissue due to its poor penetration. Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) are unrivaled in their ability to access large volumes of intact tissue located at any arbitrary depth. Still, there is a lack of genetically encoded molecular reporters for PET and MRI that can detect function and physiology through cell-engineered approaches for non-invasion in vivo imaging. Thus, I aim to develop functional quantitative imaging with engineered hybrid sensors. I intend to engineer new T-cell receptor (TCR) cells as gene-reporter sensors and metabolic therapeutic agents.
