A hyperergic or persistent inflammation is associated with many chronic human conditions and diseases, such as arthritis, allergy, atherosclerosis, autoimmune diseases and cancer. A better understanding of the inflammatory processes could lead to new therapies and improve the outcome of the diseases.
My research is focused on immune modulatory pathways with particular emphasis on reactive oxygen species and NF-κB signaling during acute and chronic inflammation by using the non-invasive in vivo optical imaging.
