Research interest

My research focuses on the role of tissue-resident macrophages in regulating inflammatory immune responses in the skin and their involvement in host defense against Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus). Despite their protective function, S. aureus can evade macrophage-mediated defense mechanisms and successfully colonize the skin. I aim to characterize the direct and indirect effects of macrophages on S. aureus colonization in the context of inflammatory skin diseases such as psoriasis and atopic dermatitis.
