Research interest

I have always been fascinated by synthetic chemistry and the role organic chemistry plays in the development of new pharmaceuticals. More recently, I have begun to discover how it can be used to answer important and relevant biological questions. Through the use of radiochemistry using a variety of radionuclides, (a challenging and interesting sub-field of synthetic chemistry in its own right) I have begun to explore the development of radio labelled PET tracers as a way of gaining insight into the complex biological changes the take place in in-vivo disease models, especially with regard to diabetes type 1 and 2.
