Research interest

Alzheimer's disease (AD), the most prevalent form of dementia, is thought to affect between 2 and 10% of North Americans and Europeans over the age of 65 years with increasing tendency. PET is a powerful tool for the early and safe diagnosis of AD pathology in the brain. However, all clinically available PET-tracers for AD fail to distinguish between various types of the prion-like Amyloid depositions due to lack of selectivity. Thus, my research interest focuses on the development of novel selective radiotracers targeting AD for both a better understanding of the disease and safe clinical diagnosis.
