Research interest

The professorship "Preclinical Imaging and Imaging Technology" funded by the Werner Siemens-Foundation is unique in Europe, joining preclinical imaging and development of novel imaging technologies for research and clinical applications. Topmost research objective of the laboratory is interdisciplinary basic research in biomedicine with state-of-the-art imaging technologies including research areas such as oncology, neurology, cardiology and immunology. The laboratory pursues its own main research in biomedicine, multimodal imaging and detector research as well as research cooperations with various departments of the University of Tübingen and further national and international academic partners. Furthermore the laboratory conducts contract research, collaborating with enterprises in biomedical engineering and the researching pharmaceutical industry.
