Research interest

My research focuses on improving strategies and protocols of cell-based immunotherapies for solid and non-solid tumors. Immune function and therapeutic efficacy depend on the interplay of different immune cells in the tumor microenvironment, such as CD8 and CD4 T lymphocytes. I therefore aim to optimize the phenotype and composition of transferred immune cells to enhance tumor infiltration and killing. To gain mechanistic insight in kinetics and function of transferred immune cells at single cell level, I use advanced microscopic techniques such as live-cell imaging and intravital microscopy.
