TheranosticValleySTR project outline reaches 2nd round of BMBF "Clusters4Future" call
TheranosticValleySTR (STR= Research and Economic Region Stuttgart, Tübingen, Reutlingen) represents the concept for an innovative future cluster to fundamentally improve diagnosis and therapy of cancer, infectious and neurological diseases. With a paradigm shift and novel prevention strategies, the main players in this concept - the University of Tübingen with its three clusters of excellence (CMFI, iFIT, ML), the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems Tübingen-Stuttgart (MPI) and the Natural and Medical Sciences Institute at the University of Tübingen (NMI) - aim to develop not only highly innovative personalized therapies, but also diagnostics tailored to the therapy - so-called theranostics.
The "Clusters4Future" competition of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) launches a new generation of innovation networks - the clusters of the future - bringing together existing excellent structures, research associations and companies in the region in the sense of a modern innovation pipeline. Now the finalists of the second round of this competition have been selected: From a total of 117 submitted competition entries, a jury of experts has recommended 15 proposals for funding for a conceptual phase. Among them: TheranosticValleySTR.
