Clinical and scientific applications of the hybrid modalities PET/CT and PET/MRI are investigated in close collaboration of the Departments of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology, Diagnostic and interventional Radiology and Nuclear Medicine.

The main scientific focus of interest lies in the application of multimodal multiparametric imaging for the characterization of malignant tumors. Furthermore, we work on the technical optimization of available imaging techniques in order to improve diagnostic performance and reliability. In close collaboration with the Section on Experimental Radiology and the Department of Preclinical Imaging and Radiopharmacy we work on advanced image analysis methods that may allow for a more precise and efficient extraction of clinically relevant information from multimodal imaging ("Radiomics").
